  Statutory Forms for Nomination Day - General and Regional Elections

NOMINATIONS DAY FOR GENERAL AND REGIONAL ELECTIONS IS 10th JANUARY, 2020

Interested parties desirous of contesting General and Regional Elections are required submit their Lists of Candidates for National Top-up, Geographical Constituency, Regional Elections and the requisite Statutory Forms using the required templates as prescribed by the Representation of the People Act Cap 1:03.

Please note that these templates are provided as guidelines as to how to prepare the respective lists and forms.

  Application for Symbols to contest General and Regional Elections

All political parties desirous of contesting General and Regional Elections to be held on 2nd March, 2020, are required to submit a symbol for approval by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) before Nominations Day.

NOMINATIONS DAY FOR GENERAL AND REGIONAL ELECTIONS IS 10th JANUARY, 2020

GECOM is hereby requesting that Applications for the Approval of Symbols be submitted no later than 13th December, 2019, to facilitate timely consideration by the Commission and provide a response to the respective applicants. Symbols in both printed and electronic versions should be submitted to:

  Verification of Registrants

The Commissioner of Registration, in fulfilment of the decision of the Commission made in accordance with the proviso to section 6(6A) of the National Registration Act, Cap 19:08, as amended by Act 14 of 2005, requires all persons whose names are listed in the Schedule to this notice to be verified.

Press Release - House to House Registration
19th July, 2019

The Guyana Elections Commission will commence House-to-House Registration on 20th July, 2019. The countrywide exercise is in keeping with a decision of the Commission on 19th February 2019 and in accordance with Order No. 25 of 2019 dated 11th June 2019.
